Over the years, she has given up much of her own life to the cause of the files. Scully was abducted, and, when mysteriously returned, left infertile by the supposed tests. She then discovered that a chip had been placed in the base of her neck. Its removal caused the onset of cancer. The disease went into remission with the implant of another chip. An assassination attempt on Scully resulted in the death of her sister Melissa. She successfully found her abducted partner, and even figured out a way to revive Mulder's life-draining body after he was subjected to alien testing.

Special Agent Dana Scully is not only a medical doctor with a specialty in forensics, but a firm believer in reason who thinks there is a scientific explanation behind every X-file. Her beliefs have been tested, and she's seen things while working on the X-files that neither science nor logic could explain. She has even begun to believe in the reality of aliens.
Against her parents wishes, Scully went from medical school to Quantico, where she taught for two years in the FBI's training academy. From there she was assigned to work with Mulder on the X-files under the strong implication that she was to debunk his outrageous theories.

Special Agent Fox Mulder
Due to his obsessive persistence of the truth, the on again / off again FBI Agent, has made many enemies in high places. In the final episodes of the show he worked undercover, lending a helping hand in certain cases he found relevant to exposing alien existence. He and Agent Scully are currently on the run from the key conspirators, and their "Super Soldier" army. They were last seen in Roswell New Mexico, but they are planning to reunite with Doggett, and Monica.

Special Agent John Doggett
First introduced to the X– Files when leading a Special Task Force in search of the abducted Mulder (September 2000). His career is marked with commendations as a Marine and a Detective in the New York Police Department. Being skeptic of the paranormal, his eyes are soon opened to “strange” occurrences when he is assigned to work with Dana Scully on the X– Files. He and Monica are currently AWOL from the FBI, and hiding somewhere in South America or Mexico.

Reyes then served in the New York City field office, where among her cases was the kidnapping of 8 year-old Luke Doggett, son of New York City police officer John Doggett. The boy was eventually found dead, but no suspect was ever apprehended. In 1999, she transferred to the New Orleans field office. She remained there until the former cop-turned FBI Agent Doggett convinced her to accept a post on the X-files unit in Washington, DC.

Special Agent Monica Reyes
Although born in Austin, Texas, Monica Reyes was adopted by Mexican parents and raised in Mexico. She has never identified her birth parents.
She majored in folklore and mythology at Brown University, earning her bachelors and masters degrees in four years. After considering an academic career, she instead enrolled at Quantico in 1990. Reyes first FBI assignment was to serve on a special task force investigating claims of Satanic ritual abuse. None of the charges was ever substantiated, and a report was issued in 1992.
